Why it matters

A Wolf range has more in common with a pro kitchen than a standard home appliance.

The dual-fuel architecture runs two completely independent cooking systems in one unit — a professional gas burner section with dual-stacked sealed rings, and a precision electric convection oven with two fans and two elements. Diagnosing a fault means knowing exactly which system failed and why. Get it wrong, and you're ordering the wrong parts for the wrong problem.

Wolf range control board diagnostic

Dual stacked sealed burners

Inner and outer flame rings controlled by independent gas valves. A failing igniter or uneven flame means tracing which valve, which electrode, which circuit — getting it right requires Wolf-specific tooling, not general appliance know-how.

Dual convection oven system

Two fans and two elements circulate heat around the entire cavity. When one fails, the oven still runs — just wrong. A non-specialist won't catch it until you've burned several batches and lost confidence in the oven.

OEM parts or nothing

Aftermarket parts look identical and fail faster. We source through authorized OEM and Wolf distributor channels only — it's the only way the 6-month warranty means anything.

Something's wrong?

These are the calls we get every week.

On a $12,000 range, a wrong diagnosis costs real money. We've seen every one of these failures before — we don't need to figure it out on your clock.

01

Burner won't ignite

Clogged igniter port, failed spark module, cracked electrode, or moisture in the ignition wiring harness.

02

Error code on display

Control board fault, temperature sensor out of range, door latch failure, or power surge aftermath.

03

Oven not reaching temperature

Failed bake element, broil element, temperature sensor drift, or dual convection fan failure.

04

Clicking igniter won't stop

Moisture in igniter module, cracked electrode, or short in the spark switch circuit.

05

Uneven cooking / hot spots

Failed dual convection fan, calibration offset, or defective bake or broil element.

06

Convection fan not running

Failed convection motor, seized bearing, or wiring fault to the oven control board.

07

Steam oven not producing steam

Failed steam generator, clogged water inlet, mineral scale build-up, or faulty steam pump.

08

Self-clean cycle fails or locks

Faulty door latch motor, thermal limiter trip, or control board error during the high-heat cycle.

What we repair

The full Wolf lineup. Every model, every year.

Wolf has been making professional-grade cooking equipment since 1934. The 30" Dual Fuel installed last spring and the GR48 that's been running in a Los Gatos kitchen since 2003 need the same depth of care — and the same depth of knowledge. We service both.

“Called Best Pro when our Wolf 48" DF threw a fault code the week before Christmas. They knew exactly what it was — convection motor — had the part on the truck, and were done in two hours. Didn't need to reschedule a thing. Absolute pros.”
Marcus T.
Pacific Heights, SF
“We built our kitchen around that Wolf range. When the right front burner stopped igniting, Best Pro came next morning with the igniter module already in the van and fixed it on the spot. Honest quote, no padding. Exactly what service on a $15,000 appliance should look like.”
Jennifer R.
Atherton
“My M Series double oven was cooking unevenly — not dramatically, just wrong. Best Pro diagnosed a failed convection fan in under 15 minutes, part was on the truck. Six months later the oven is still holding temperature to the degree.”

Wolf Repair — Frequently Asked Questions

All of them — current production and legacy. Dual fuel and gas ranges from 30" through 60", M Series and E Series wall ovens, pro rangetops, all cooktop types, steam and speed ovens, warming drawers, and older DF and GR series that have been running in Bay Area kitchens for 15 or 20 years. If it has Wolf on the knob, we service it.
Same-day for most of the Bay Area when you call before noon. San Francisco — Pacific Heights, Nob Hill, the Sunset — same-day is standard. Atherton, Palo Alto, Mill Valley, the East Bay — same or next. We know what it means to have a range down on a weeknight. Call us directly and we'll make it work.
A flat service call fee covers the trip and a full inspection — burner test, ignition system, temperature probe, error code pull, and control board check. That fee goes toward the repair cost if you approve the job. No separate diagnostic charge when the work gets done.
Yes — the parts that actually fail. Igniter electrodes, spark modules, bake and broil elements, convection motors, temperature sensors, door latches, door seals, and control boards for the most common series. Parts we rarely see we'll source in 1–3 business days through OEM channels. Most visits don't need a second trip.
Repair, almost always. Wolf builds to run 20+ years. The burner system on a 2006 GR range is mechanically identical to current production — they didn't change what was already working. When something fails, it's almost always one component: a convection motor, a control board, an igniter module. Replacing one part on a $12,000 range is a completely different calculation than replacing the range.
All nine Bay Area counties. San Francisco and the Peninsula — Burlingame, Hillsborough, Palo Alto, Atherton, Menlo Park. The South Bay — Los Altos, Saratoga, Los Gatos, San Jose, Cupertino. East Bay — Berkeley, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Danville. North Bay — Mill Valley, Tiburon, San Rafael, Sonoma, Napa. Not sure if you're in range? Call — we've probably been to your neighborhood.
